Now the pears and plums are cozy together. Last chance to paint them before they are either eaten or overripe and gone. There is an orange underpainting which seems to give the painting a certain glow.

There is something exhilarating about painting – the whole creative process, the learnings and the discoveries, and always – the challenges. I started painting in watercolour when the children were leaving home. A few years later, my artist mother suggested oils, and it has become a passion.
