This petunia flower stem broke off during planting and was rescued. Flowers are a difficult subject, one that I return to time and again for the learning. It takes a lot of squinting to see the many variations of value in one blossom!
There is something exhilarating about painting – the whole creative process, the learnings and the discoveries, and always – the challenges. I started painting in watercolour when the children were leaving home. A few years later, my artist mother suggested oils, and it has become a passion.
